I'm sure the answer to my problem was posted a while ago, but I just upgraded to OS 9.1 and now my Epson 740i doesn't show up in the chooser, so I can't use it. Is there a driver update for 9.1 that I missed, or is something else causing this problem? Thanks,

The Epson printer extensions did not make it into your new Extensions folder or something. Perhaps you did a clean install? If so, drag across the files from your old Extensions folder. They are SC 740i, Epson Folder, EPSON Launcher, EPSON Monitor3, and EPSON USBPrintClassx, where x = 1-5 (5 files). The last 5 aren't supposed to be useful under current versions of the OS (I believe they were for OS 8.1), but leaving them in has not hurt my system.

If these files were wiped in the upgrade, reinstall the Epson driver. If you don't have the install CD, the drivers are on this page. You will need both the driver, and the updater file.

[Edit: typos. Also, the link first pointed to the 740, now points correctly to the 740i drivers]

I already tried reinstalling the driver from the installation CD, and nothing. I will check to see if they made it to the extensions folder, and try the files from epson's site in case the ones on my CD are old. Thanks,

try holding command option then you open the chooser, it should beep. This clears out some mystery "cache".

Thanks oscar. I actually got it working again after reinstalling the drivers from epson's site. Do you know the purpose of clearing the cache of the chooser? I've never heard of that before, pretty cool. Thanks,
