iDisk "alias" no longer works??!!

I have a DSL connection and constantly use my iDisk as a backup of very important files. Instead of constantly going to Apple's iDisk page, I merely set up an alias of my iDisk on my desktop.

This has always worked fine. I would just need to double-click the alias, enter my passwork, and I was good to go with my iDisk.

However, this weekend, I started getting errors where the iDisk wouldn't open and my password wasn't recognized. An error message would so indicate.

However, opening the iDisk from Apple's site works fine.

I have since set up my alias again, but I have the same error again.

Is anyone else having this problem or specifically NOT having this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be happening?

Use the Network Browser or Chooser to connect to idisk.mac.com.

Ok, that didn't work. . . .

I wonder if something changed with the way Apple's server is handling iDisk sessions? Like I said, the "alias" worked last week. Now, it only works when I go to the iTools web page and open it there.

Do you suppose that they want the "hit" from the web site visit?

Anyway, it's an interesting little issue.

Well, mysteriously, the problem has vanished as mysteriously as it appeared. Opening my iDisk via the alias now works.

I didn't make any changes. Go figure.

Thanks for the advice! But my complaining is over. . . .

I had the same problem after reinstalling OS 9, but I just logged on to my iDisk via Apple's page and when the icon appeared on my desktop I just created a new alias. WORKS FINE!
