Hi Everyone,

Does anyone here know if Apple has thought or is thinking of using the Vorbis codec for iTunes rather than Mp3. I am more than happy to do away with proprietory audio codecs such as Mp3. Is there anyone at Apple to contact regarding this matter?

If you dont know what Vorbis is check out http://www.xiph.org

I have tried a few sample encodes and Vorbis does sound more true to the source file than Mp3. It is a bit slow at the moment, though I am sure that will change when the codec is finalised and people start to really get into optimising it.
