Control Strip Need Other Extension too?

In trimming unused extensions/CPs, I made control strip disappear upon next restart.
Selecting the CS CP gave the message:
"The Control Strip is installed, but it is n ot active. Would you like to start up the Control Strip?" Selecting "OK" yielded the alert:
"The Control Strip could not be started up."
Not too helpful. Nor does Extensions Manager give info on anything else that needs to be installed for CS to work.
Trashing CS pref file and restarting made no change.
Any ideas so I don't have to test re-activating a variety of unnecessary extensions?

Do you have the Control Strip control panel and the Control Strip extension installed and enabled? If not, you can get either from any backups you have or from your system CD.

Yes, CS ext in Ext Folder; CS CP in Control Panel Folder
I did notice, however that CS Ext is 2.02 and was installed when AirPort installation was done (whereas CS CP is 2.0). --though that was working fine before some other extensions were turned off. (AirPort ext/CP's are still on)
