Japanese text from Mac to PC

I have installed the Japanese Language Kit on my iMac and can read and create Japanese text files easily enough. My problem now is sending them to Windows PC users with Japanese Windows or Windows with Japanese Language capability. I have tried saving in different formats such as txt, rtf, html and even using MacLink to see if I can create a Windows Doc with the correct text but none have worked.
I suspect I need some sort of conversion program - if so could anyone give suggestions and let me know how accurate the conversions are.
