Impossible... like the previous update 1.2 my iMac DV SE crashes after installing and restarting. The culprit is the Apple Audio Extension 1.3.

Do you have identical problems...? If so do respond. I wonder if Apple tests the software update.

I also have synch problems with the built-in DVD player.

More info about my system:

System information gathered 2/3/00 at 6:39 PM
System Info program version 5.0.2

Test Parameters (All items listed here affect test results)
Note: all tests were run in native PowerPC code.
Note: this system’s Disk Cache is a different size (4096K) than the Reference System (128K). Different disk cache sizes can significantly affect disk test results. To change the disk cache size, use the Memory control panel. After changing the size, you must restart your Macintosh for the change to take effect.

The same problem cropped up on my Blue and White G3, and I found an unusual but effective solution:

Deactivate the Mac OS 9 Audio Update package in the Extensions Manager, restart, then reactivate it, and restart. My machine has worked beautifully since.
