Hello!

I have a G4 400 running 9.01 and an 8500 running 8.6. They are directly connected via an ethernet cable. i can't seem to get the 8500 w/ 8.6 to show ETHERNET in the Appletalk control panel as I would under 9.0x? It says printer port, modem port or remote only?

Am i missing something in the 8.6 sys software? i had run 9.01 on the 8500 and the thernet connection worked fine. so it is not a hardware issue.

Any ideas how I can get the 8500 (8.6) to network via the ethernet to the G4 9.01?

Do appreciate it. I have files to transfer and my only way is to e-mail via the internet.

Sounds like you need to reinstall part of your OS. Is there any ethernet files in your extentions folder? If not install that part of your OS.
