iDVD, Apple's Superdrive and external DVD-RWs

Has anyone been able to use iDVD 1 or 2 with an external DVD-RW drive ie: Lacie's latest. Or is iDVD limited to just the Superdrive. I've heard DVD Studio might work but have not had clarification.

Are Apple's brand DVDs from the Apple Store compatible with external DVD-RWs, once again they only reccomend usage with the Superdrive. cheers.

iDVD 2 is NOT compatible with an external Superdrive, you would need to buy DVD Studio Pro, which supports external drives.
