OS 9.2.1 Jittery Mouse

For some reason when I boot into 9.2.1 from 10.1.1 I get a really jittery mouse. I thought it had something to do with virtual memory being on, but that was not the problem. It was not turned on. I ran DiskWarrior & PlusOptimizer and that did not help.
Have any of you encountered this? Any good fix recommended besides reinstalling system software?
I am running the above on an iBook 500 CDRW/DVD.
