In OS 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 my Desktop Printer icons for all my printers were accidently dragged to the trash a few weeks ago, and I have not been able to get them back!!! The desktop printer utility fails to recover them as shown in the above image.

I have rebuilt the desktop, I have tried the Adobe PS 8.7.3 drivers, (I commonly use LaserWriter 8.7.1), i've tried turning off appletalk, etc, nothing helps.

Note: I CAN still print to all my printers. However, I cannot open up the icons on the desktop any more to see the printer que, in case I need to cancel a job etc, its more important than you might think!

I fixed it eventually.

I believe what did it, was I trashed a whole lot of printing preferences files, including Adobe PS printing prefs.

I then went into the Chooser and selected the printers I wanted using Adobe PS and my other printer description file, and then they built themselves onto the desktop again automatically from the chooser.
