Performa 6115CD/72MB RAM/OS 8.0. "Recent Documents" in the Apple Menu does not work, that is, recent documents never show up in this folder. I recently updated to 8.1 from 8.0 by running the “Update to Mac OS 8.1” installer on the 8.1 CD, thinking that the update would fix problem; it didn't. I then tried to do a “Custom Install” of Apple Menu Items using the “Install Mac OS 8.1” installer on the 8.1 Install CD, but there is no "Recent Documents" option in the collection of items that are included in the “Apple Menu Items” list. Please help. Thank you.

J Stevens, you never mentioned Apple Menu Options Control Panel in your post... That control panel gives you .........
the option for Recent Documents and/ or Recent Applications and
how many items will be listed
