9.1 restart in open firmware

When I reboot in 9.1 I restart in open firmware, and the keyboard isn't working, so I get stuck. I heard the problem is ram related. Someone heard of a fix?

Added any new RAM chips lately?
If so make sure they're seated properly, and all that.

I think you heard "PRAM" related, not RAM.

Reboot and hold down Apple-Option-P-R then wait for 3 chimes - let go after you hear the third one.
All should be well now.
If that doesn't work, unplug all peripherals (KB included) and boot up... does it work now?
