Wow... just finished installing ATM 4.5.2... what a bith to install! There are so many things that can go wrong. To save you all the pain, here is what to do.
If you did a dirty install of MacOS 9 and had ATM 4.5 installed before updating your OS, you should just be able to just run the updater and restart. Done.
However, if you did a clean install of MacOS 9 and therefore have to install ATM from scratch, things can get really messy and confusing! Here's what to do.
1. Run the ATM 4.5 Deluxe installer and restart (the installer forces you to restart anyway).
2. Hold down the shift key to boot with extensions off. If you boot with extensions, you will crash. If you are using multi-users, you will need the Admin password to get to the desktop.
3. Open up the Control Panels folder and move the file "~ATM" to the "Control Panels (Disabled)" folder of your System folder.
4. Run the ATM 4.5.2 updater and restart. Done.
