If you want to save your PaperPort from extinction as you move up to Mac OS 9 and beyond, you want to join or at least visit the PaperPort Preservation Society http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/paperpo...vationsociety. Of special note, a posting on the site from ScanSoft http://www.scansoft.com/support/paperportmac.html (who now makes the PaperPort software) states "We are currently working to identify the [Mac OS 9] problems and to correct them if possible by the end of 1999." I have heard these promises before (see this item for one example http://www.macfixit.com/archives/apr...l#strobe-04-09 ) and remain skeptical but hopeful.
