Today, Napster crashed on me, and iTunes had a little hiccup. "So what?" says everyone. "So," says I, this is the first time I've heard iTunes skip in the untold hours I've been listening to it. After 3 years or so of skip-city MacAMP, this a pretty big deal to me. I'm just wondering how many other people have had similar experience.

Well, this stuff sort just happens in Mac OS 9 (and OSs below). How much
ram do you have? Back in the day this used to happened to me often
but more ram fixed it. I don't think you should be worried. Pump up the
memory allocated to iTunes and if you don't want to spend money
on more ram just pump up virtual memory.

Hope this helps.

By the way, this problem is fixed for you in Mac OS X in that it has
preemptive multitasking and protected memory.

Oh, I'm not worried. I was pumped. I mean, MacAST skipped more than an electrical engineer in an anthro course. And now iTunes has only skipped once. Once in the past two months. I just find that cool considering the absence of pre-emptive multitasking and all those wholesome buzzwords everybody is dancing over.
