I want to select the desktop from another HD/partition as the download location for my browser. With the new Navigation Services Dialog Box, shift-click only selects the desktop that contains the System Folder. Any suggestions?

In whatever dialog you use to select the download location, simply go to the drive with the desktop you want to set it to, and select "Desktop Folder" as the download location. Depending on whether or not the browser sees invisible folders, you might have to use ResEdit to make it visible (in ResEdit--"File," "Get File/Folder info," select the desktop folder in the appropriate drive (ResEdit sees everything invisible), and uncheck "invisible.")

Okay, the main thing stopping me from having more than one partition is the way the desktops act - its a friggin pain.
What if I made the desktop files/folders on the System drive (just system folder - nothing else) partition aliases to the real ones on the other partition?
Would that work? Anyone tried it?
