OK, does anyone know of an alternate download location for OS 9.1?

I've been trying to access the software library on the Apple site since they updated post-keynote, and I keep getting connection errors (I'm sure it's way busy).

I'm having the same problem, asu.info.apple.com seems to be dead. In a completely unrelated note, apple's idea of distributing software via the iDisk is a great idea, and for the first time it actually makes a lot of sense to have one (as opposed to www.xdrive.com which can be accessed from any computer).

I used FTP to get to:
ftp://ftp.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/System/Mac_OS_9.1_update/

I was going nuts trying to get those files off of Apple's download page.

Now I have only 12 of 15 files left to go.... ;o)

Yeah, thanks man. That did the trick.

Before that I had resigned myself to spend all night downloading from ftp.info.euro.apple.com. It was working, but REALLY slow as you might imagine (and not so much due to the traffic).

If you're in the US and try that site, make sure you dig around for the US version of the upgrade. It's in there, you'll find it.

BTW -- upgrade from 9.04 going very smoothly so far (knock on wood)....

Jeez! I hope everybody's reading the "Before you Install" - I changed my mind about the download
and am ordering the CD instead.

Consider - for a "successful install":

CD is a MUST for 4 models of Power Mac, 3 models of servers and ALL Nu-bus based Power Macs.
Virtual Memory must be ON and set to not less than 64 megs, even if you only have 32 megs of RAM.

TIL 106089 - modified as recently as TO-DAY is also a must read.

Phew, now ftp08 is gone (won't connect) and Europe is the only one left I know. 4k per second on a 500k/s broadband is difficult to watch. I think I'll run around in circles lest I get download rigamortis.

l008com, I owe you...
Contact me on AIM @ Cipher1387 or ICQ on 48111606, or @ cipher13@mac.com, and I'll send you the entire file. I'll get the image, then compress into one thing.
