If you are still hearing the modem chirps as it tries to connect, don't pull the plug. Doing so will freeze the computer immediately.

Did it today by accident. Didn't freeze! Came up with a Remote Access connection error and then stopped ok! Whats up with that??

I agree though. I have had it freeze up like that in the past.

Unfortunately with my conputer, when Explorer or Netscape automatically get oline, they bring up the OLD OLD white ARA modal box, takes up all the responsiveness from my computer during those 30 seconds. It really bugs me everytime, and if it crashes like this, say goodbye to your 5-page paper.

Is there a way to make the web browser to call the new ARA instead of the old?

I would suggest using the control strip to dial before you open your browser, then it won't bug you.
