I haven't used keyboard shortcuts very much and have the following Q.

If I press control+eject, I get the shutdown dialog. It has four options -- Restart, Sleep, Cancel and Shut Down with the default selection being Shut Down. Is it possible to choose any of the other options without using the mouse?

Thanks,
Ram

Thanks very much. Just a follow up. Are there any occassions where such a dialog might have two or more options with the same starting letter. In that case do you have to type more than one letter.

No; it'll be different. That situation is a very rare occurance indeed.

In most (nearly system wide) dialog boxes you can also do Apple-D for don't save, Apple-S or enter for save, and Apple-. (period) works the same way as escape (cancel).

There aren't many boxes where you can just press a letter without a modifier key.
