scan, import prints from film to iPhoto?

Can I scan my archived prints from film and then import those scans into iPhoto to utilize the app's nifty cataloging features? All I'm sure of, after seeing the keynote and looking at the iPhoto info on apple's website, is that images can be imported from cameras or their storage media.

yeah, you can import any pics that are on your computer. just go under File-->import.

i thought the same thing as you when i saw the keynote (thinking that it was only for digicams)

Yeah, import anything.

Not Illustrator files though
