Using MAc OS 9 on a Powerbook 3400, I have had great difficulty selecting anything other than the 'desktop folder' when trying to get into the appearance files in the system folder for desktop pictures and images. When selecting a new picture, all I can get to come up as viable folders are the desktop ones, minus the hard drive itself! If I place the appearance folder on the desktop, it is selectable. But otherwise, not at all. If I drag and drop an image onto the Appearance desktop app, everything works fine. But folders that I can't seem to get to, like the hard drive itsel, are not possible.
Any ideas.
