Apple has finally posted this long overdue update, just a day before the OS X release, so naturally the servers are busy. IE 5.0 crashes every thime I try to downlad it. What's up with that? I finally downloaded with Netscape.
Meanwhile, Apple has also posted something called iTunes 1.1 US English Remover, and they say this needs to be run before installing the international version. However, there's nothing I can do to get this to download. Is it because the server is busy? Apple also says that these files will be on my iDisk ( I did register my location as Hong Kong, so it should be there). However, there are no such files in my iDisk. What the hell is Apple doing?

I previously had installed iTunes v1.0 and yesterday I downloaded the English International v1.1.
To uninstall the previous version I simply erased everething that has to do with iTunes (preferences, extensions, help, the folder, the strip module, and a folder in the extensions folder that is called Authoring Support - or something like that)
iTunes is now working perfectly.
I have a Cube/320MB and OS9.1 English International.

Wow, another HK'er. Anyway, it might be possible to use ResEdit to hack the default font for title display... maybe later I'll look into it. Still it's silly that Apple didn't make this Language Register compatible.

To anyone interested in iTunes displaying Chinese: I think I'll have a hacked iTunes for English systems that can display Chinese tonight. I don't want to download the Chinese iTunes over my cell phone to work on this now, and I'll do it when I get home.

Success!
Look on "bentonton's" iDisk for a special iTunes Hong Kong (and Taiwan) version.
This is the English version (International and American English versions are identical) but it can display any track info in Chinese.
If anyone else is interested in a similar hack for whatever language they prefer, let me know and I'll tell you how to do it. It takes about five minutes. Quick and easy ResEdit hack.
