I have an iMac 600 Mhz. Whenever I shutdown and plug out the power over night, on startup the date and time reverts to Jan 01, 1904, 12.00 am.
Could it be the battery ALREADY? It's just 4 months old!

It may be caused by the PRAM battery, replace the battery with a new one.

Since it's just 4 months old, couldn't you use your Apple warranty?

this just happened to me--power went out. when it came back on, it was 1904.

ijust got this imac at christmas......is it possible this battery thing is already dead? if so, do i actually have to pay for a new one? sounds like a bogus battery to me.

also, i keep getting this strange error message on startup, saying my "network time" and "timezone" are incorrect......is this related to the battery issue?
