I recently got a bargain 7500/100AV with the intent of building up the RAM, HD capacity, and upgrading to a g3 to replace an ageing 6200CD. There are audio input and output jacks on the back, but only video in (no out). Inside there is a vacant DAV slot. Was there at one time an audio/video digitizing card in that slot that has somehow "evaporated"? Will the 7500 do analog to digital conversion without such a card? If so, can it also do digital to analog conversion for output if I get the plug set from an 8500? Barring that, is there a reasonably priced PCI board that will do the analog to digital and digital to analog conversion? I would like to use the unit to produce training tapes in a VHS format with my VCR, but where do I begin?
