Since I'm out of hard drive space on my Mac, I'm looking to replace one of my hard drives. Looking at the prices, IDE drives are much much cheaper than SCSI drives. Unfortunatly, I've got a PM 7500 thats all SCSI. Since all I need is storage space and not speed, I was thinking of putting a PC PCI IDE Controller in my Mac. Has anyone tried this? Should it work? Any chance it will be bootable?

Go to promax.com and buy one guaranteed to work with Mac for about $130.

It looks like a SCSI controller to the system, so it will boot.

A PC IDE controller will not work unless it has Mac boot ROM, so chances are it won't. Get the card mentioned in the previous post.
