I have a 8600/300 that I would like to swap the processor out of and put it into and older 7600/132. So far the 7600 (with the 8600's 300MHz 604e) powers up but just sits there (the monitor does not come on). Any ideas? Everything is connected correctly I believe.

don't know what to tell you other than to make sure to pull the motherboard cache on the 7600 as an 8600 card should have the L2 cache on it (inline) and might conflict with motherboard L2..

I'm pretty sure that the 300MHz card will only work on machines with the Kansas motherboard, ie the newer 8600/9600.

Correct me if i'm wrong.
