i have some IBM 0664-N1H 2GB hard drives.. they are 68 pin.. i recently purchased a 68 to 50 pin converter without termination.. the drives don't show up on my computer or on a friend's 8500.. do these drives need a 68 pin terminator of some sort? any help is appreciated.

What SCSI type is the drive in question (eg SCSI-2, Wide, Ultra-Wide etc)? Does your machine or SCSI card able to run this type of drive??

They will need termination but you should be able to do this with jumpers on the drive. Also make sure you have unique ID #'s You can usually look up the jumper settings at IBM's website

the drive is SCSI-2 but doesn't have any on-board terminaton to my knowledge... i know that the data lines that aren't used by 50 pin scsi need to be terminated but will i need a pass-through terminator to do this?
