If they come out with a slot loaded iMac I'll postpone my 12 ALPB purchase until the next incarnation with a lighted keyboard!

I love how us Mac freaks know when new products are coming out. Jobs may as well come out and just tell us what he's got planned.

haha I wouldn't say so Mac geeks have been predicting new iMacs for the last 7 months and we've been wrong every time... and IT"S FREAKIN FRUSTRATING! I think Apple's just screwing with us the 12 inch power books and the lack of new iBooks have my world running topsey turvey! I officially envy the orignal new iMac buyers they got the BEST iMac there was and they've had it for over a year!

Slot loading iMac? I am not sure I like that idea, you can't use mini CD's with that. Although I am not so sure that really matters, they really haven't taken off and therefore are kinda price compared to regular CDs.

What if it was more than a 100 MHz jump, was cheaper, and would be available within 5 days?

Just wondering.

Airport Extreme is all I care about. I won't buy a new computer that doesn't support it.

You know, I don't think we will see firewire2 in the iMac in this next round of upgrades (althought I would not be completely surpised either), it just doen't completely mesh with how Apple works. It would be in Apples best interest to get in on as many machines as possible, greater demand prompting more 3rd partys to build devices for it.

You could have a point there. But don't forget, the iMac has pioneered stuff for Apple a couple of times already, so it's not the line that comes last normally.

Does somebody here have an idea how much more expensive FW2 is for Apple? If it's almost nothing they could really just put it in every machine as soon as the board gets revised.
