And yes, I have searched the forums about this problem and found a couple of threads that had posts that stated something like "...Yes, yes, yes, PC 133 memory will work in beige G3's". The posts also state that sometimes a 256 chip will only be recognized as a 128 mb chip, but that's all they say about it. That is the problem that I am having- my new PNY 256 MB PC 133 chip is only recognized as 128MB. I even tried it with only the 256 in the computer but it still comes up as a 128 MB chip. Any solutions for this problem? My next stop will be at PNY.com. I don't know if Staples will take this back if I have opened it. Do I have to just try memory chips until I find one that works? That seems bogus, especially when the computer is designed to accept 256 mb (PC 100) chips.

OK, I figured it out. The PNY website says that newer PC133 chips are incompatible with older systems. I guess I just have to break down and buy the more expensive PC 100 memory.

Anybody want a 256 mb PC 133 chip? It's brand new and I'll make you a deal...

Well I don't want to be a jackass but apparantly, you're way to search is kind of... not working. If you would have simply looked down on the first page of this forums, you would have found this thread:

Right now as I'm writing this, this thread is on position 6 on the first page of the PowerMac forums

I may have just been lucky - I bought 256MB PC133 from Crucial (because it was the cheapest) and it "just works" in my beige G3/300 (actually it's now 333, and maybe 366 if I can improvise a jumper...)

333? 366? What are you talking about?
