I just installed an 80 gig drive to ad to the existing 6 gig OEM. The 6 gig is the original Maxtor and the new 80 gig is an IBM. When I added the 80 gig as a slave, my CD rom disappears. Won't show up in profiles and won't play any CDs. When I unplug the 80 gig, everything works out fine. Any clues???

Thanks,

X

do you have a rev 1 B&W if so get yourself a ATA controller card from siig or sonnet. (rev1's are notorious for data corruption if you are putting both drives on the motherboard ide bus) is the drive set to slave or master? i personally would not put another drive into any B&W without using a ATA controller card. they arent that expensive, i found them as cheap as $68.00. the part number for the siig mac card is sc-mp4a12 , and the sonnet is TAT-133. you can do a google search with just the part number to get places and search for prices.

good luck
