I have a gigabit ethernet G4 which has 2x AGP and I was wondering if anyone was running one with a Geforce4 Ti in it. Supposedly the requirements for this card is a 4x AGP slot but I've read some people have it in a 2x slot. Anyone out there with more info on this?

It'll work just fine with no noticeable performance loss compared to an AGP 4x slot. The question is though what you need it for?

I was going to run a dual monitor setup for 3D work and to play games whenever I happen to have any time. I'm thinking I'm going to wait for the 9700 Pro but just in case I ran into a decently priced GeForce4 Ti, I wanted to know if it would work okay.

Oh yes there will be. I've seen some people cap off at 50 FPS with the card in 2x AGP, and then it goes up to 120 FPS in a 4x slot.

Yeah I wanna see that...
The AGP bus is only maxed out if the video card has to swap textures into the system memory which however almost never happens b/c nowadays video cards have 64MB or more of video ram. Whether it's an AGP 2x or an AGP 4x slot doesn't make a difference, the processor however does.

I have a great article about that, unfortunately it's German so you probaby won't understand too much.
