Hi Everyone,
I was wondering , can you use the "old style" keyboard ( the one that has the power switch on it ) with the new "iMac" ?
I know that the new keyboard is better ( volume & eject-keys) , but for some reason I like the smaller "old style" KB.
Thank you for your help,
jedi

Yeah. It's a regular USB keyboard so there's no reason why you wouldn't be able to use it.

yes and no! by using an old style keyboard on a 17" 800mhz, you can shut down but unable to start up....not much use really.

jedi.....heres something to consider......Your computer is designed so it can be running all the time.
In sleep mode, your computer uses very little power, and waking up from sleep is faster than starting your computer. ].
To put the computer to sleep, press the power button, or choose......... Sleep from the Apple menu. To wake it, press the power button again, or press any key on the keyboard,
so if you use this option the power button shouldn,t be an issue....may the force be with you!

If he wants to shut down his mac, why don't you let him? Put your own mac to sleep, which I'm sure you are already.

I think Croz was trying to suggest something. This is a place for getting different solutions to problems after all. He did also say that it would be something to consider as an alternative.
