Hi all,

Anyone been shipped their new Powermac from the UK website yet?

I was told last Friday for the shipping date, then when that didn't happen I was told Monday. Then Tuesday. Still not shipped.

Is this usual?

To answer my own question for all those also waiting...

I called them again and am now told it won't ship until early next week (10th) due to a part shortage (I'm guessing the bluetooth module).

I spoke to them today. I was told that it wouldn't ship before next Monday (10th Feb). Can't be the Bluetooth module as I haven't ordered one. I hope there are no more delays. I just can't wait any longer!

Am wanting to order the DP 1.42 with Bluetooth etc.

Anyone have any idea when the UK will ship those. Web site says about 4 - 6 weeks. Yikes!!!

I rec'd an email from Apple Canada informing me that my G4 1.25 dp will not ship until the 11th of February---and I had expected it to ship yesterday (4th. Feb.) Oh well-----

Anyone had their's shipped yet?

After it didn't get sent last Tuesday, I was told Friday. When it didn't ship on Friday they told me Monday.

Guess what? Still waiting...

That's 5 missed shipping dates so far.

Just spoken to UK Applestore. Still not shipped. They have a date for the 17th! They don't seem to know why there is a delay.

So much for the 2-3 days initially advertised.

Well I received an email from the Apple store this morning informing me that my dual 1.25 was shipped on the 10th

The question is, when will it arrive

Did you order anything custom? I ordered a dual 1.24 with bluetooth module the same day they were announced

Dual 1.25 it is, but it's still not here yet

I didn't order the bluetooth adapter which may help to explain the ship date. However, wasn't there a recent recall of some machines that needed a mobo replacement? Apple may have had to check everything again before shipping to avoid costs of recall.

Yep - there was a problem with the mobo - something to do with an error on the sound out i think... dunno if this was really the hold up but seems likely.

I have guessed this is what the delay is in shipping my 1.25. I ordered via the Apple web store (US) 3 hrs after the initial anouncement and was told the machine would ship "on or before the 4th of Feb." now my order status says the 19th.

It's the waiting that's the hardest part...

My order now says the 19th as well. It is always frustrating ordering any new hardware from Apple in my experience. They do not seem to have a clue when machines will be dispatched and can never tell you why they have put the date back again. They are also no good at apologising for their poor service.

I think I would be less frustrated if they had told me the 19th from the start instead of constantly putting the date back by a few more days.

Does anyone in the UK have a new dual 1.25 yet?

Well, I got FOUR emails from Applestore yesterday (Friday 15th), all saying-

"With reference to your recent order, we apologise for the delay that you have experienced in receiving this order. We plan to ship your order during the second week in February."

I make it past 2nd week in Feb...

I ordered my dual 1.25 (which, by the way, now goes by the name of Bad Boy

) on the 29th Jan. I also got the email stating the machine would ship in the 2nd week of Feb. In my case that was correct.

The machine actually shipped Monday but arrived Friday - long time to go without any sleep

Having upgraded from a beige G3 (albeit somewhat maxed out with G4 ZIF, radeon and other bits), I can tell you it's like the difference between night and day!

My old beige was fairly loud and the fan stayed on even when the machine was asleep. Well, the MDD isn't quiet, but it's also no louder than the beige.

One thing, when your machine arrives you may want to open the box and leave it a while to reach room temp. i had some probs with the dvd drive reading the installation disk that I put down to condensation on the drive lens. Once things warmed up everything settled down. I also ordered the Pro Speakers and was worried that they weren't working. Seems that you really have to push the plug in hard...

Just installed konfabulator - wow! I can really see some good uses for this app.

Here's hoping everybody elses machines aren't too long in coming

I seem to have had no correspondence from AppleStore about this order. I hope they don't do this to me as well. The order went in the evening they were announced.

I expect to find mine is put back as well when I phone them tomorrow.

If I didn't want some build-to-order features I would go elsewhere.
