I started out with 32 mb of ram originally but... now i just installed a 128 meg card. why the frick does is say that i only have 96 mb?
and it says something about 97 unused mb of ram?
help. please!!!

We are going to need a lot more information on the kind of iMac it is. Do you know what rev. it is? Is it tray or slot loading CD-ROM? You need to give more information.

Dockpipe, judging from your initial post you have a original imac. according to Crucial the max ram is 128mb and it looks like it is limited to 64mb chips as you machine is only addressing the initial 64mb (32mb+64mb=96mb) also you say that it says 97mb unused ram this i suspect is virtual memory coupled with physical memory - the amount of memory used by OS9 which leaves you with the figure of 97mb. so basicaly 64mb dimms only in your machine sorry..

I guess you have to apply the iMac firmware to able to see the rest of the memory. Some people put a total of 512MB RAM into the Rev. A -D iMac without any problem. I have 2 x 128MB here anyway running 10.2.3.
