Hello,

I've read some impressions of the new Power Macs released one week ago (with FireWire 800). All said, the new models are quieter.
But what does "quieter" mean? Quieter than the first MDDs? Okay, but are they still louder than the old Quicksilver models, which weren't really silent, too?
FW800 owners: Please compare the noise of your new Power Macs to older models.
Is the new Mac louder/quieter compared to the Mac you owend before?
What Mac did you own before you bought the FW800?
[iBook and Powerbook users: yes, I know that the notebooks are quieter, I own a G3-500 iBook my own.]
Do you use the Mac in a loud or silent environment?

I owned a Quicksilver (Single-733) until December 2002. I used it in a very silent environment and hoped that new Power Macs would be even quieter than my old Quicksilver.

Thanks in advance!

Stefan
