do you guys think its worth the grand to get the dual 1.2 ghz upgrade for my aging dual 500. it seems awfully tempting, and not to mention the bragging rights i can have saying that my 2 year old G4 can kick your ass!

I GOT WASTED WITH PHIL SHERRY!!!

i dunno, a grand is a lot. i have a 450, but uni-n rev 3, so no dualies for me. i'm planning to max mine out before i get a new mac. there's nothing much on a new machine (besides processor speed) that i really want anyway.

personally, i'd say do it. the old sawtooths and gig E's rock!

I upgraded my Dual 450 to a PowerLogix dual 800 and never looked back. Great Upgrade. Worth the $$$ to get another year out of it.

I know, my wife thinks I'm spoiled.. but I really want a new Desk top.. The dual 1.42 is tempting, but as with the 17"Ai book, if I were to buy the Dual 1.42, Apple would announce a Dual IBM970 1.8Ghz machine for $2999..

funny.. I've got a tower with dual 500's and I was eyeing that 1ghz upgrade from Sonnet. The Sonnet Duet I have in it now is great... but I"m just itching for an upgrade.

Then again, for what I use my computer for.. I single G4-500 would probially be enough and I'm short on cash (just purchaced 3 duplexes) and I think I can wait till the end of the year with what I've got. I hope by then Apple has some stuff out to make me really drule!

Real Estate is a good investment, computers for fun are not... so I'd say you did well.
