What is up with the cube? I have a 15 inch apple lcd hooked up to mine via it's adc port. I wanted to hook up a flat glass crt to it as well via the vga and the adapter apple so nicely supplies won't go on the video card when the adc port is in use? Is the gpu not made to be run in a dual monitor configuration? I can plug my crt vga cable directly into the cube's vga output, but the wire is too thick. It doesn't bend enough to allow it to get out from under the cube's low underside. After all, that's what the adapter is for right? Does anybody run a dual monitor cinfiguration on their cube? If so, how? Would it be crazy to cut the 1/8th of an inch of platic off the apple supplied vga adapter? Is that a fire hazard?
Thanks

No probably not a hazzard.
The card in your cube was not made to handle dual monitors. You need to upgrade to a geforce 2mx twinview

how much do those usually run? don't you have to cut the video card portion of the bottom of the cube to install a different card too? by not meant to run dual monitors do you mean not powerful enough? are those card even still available?
thanks

Yes you can probably find the twinview card on ebay, and it requires taking the cube apart, and swapping the 'backplate' from the old card to the new one.
I reccomend the 2mx because it's similar in size to the standard card and low on heat. Remember to get the twinview, if anything.

how does that work though? if i need to swap the old card's plate to the twinview wouldn't the vga out on the twinview be just as close and not allow the adapter to work like it doesn't now?

Yep. Aint much to say about that, you're left at 'cutting' the adapter.
There really is no hazzard, as long as you don't cut any wires, aslong as it can still connect
Right now even if you cut up the plug it still wouldn't work. There's no hardware support for dual monitors.

oh, so you're saying the card isn't putting out a signal to both outputs at the same time? hmm, yeah, that's a problem.
