I am going to order a new system soon and am trying to decide which card to get through Apple's BTO. I will be getting the 20" ACD to go with the 1.25 GHZ dual. I will be using it for mostly Photoshop, but some video editing, and of course gaming.
Is the Radeon 9000 pro adequate?
Or, Should I wait and get the Radeon 9700 for $300 extra? (I can wait the extra 3 weeks and spend the extra cash for a much better product)
Or, should I spend the extra $300 and get the Nvidia GeForce4 Titanium?
If your going to spend the extra $300, the 9700 pro is the way to go. If your doing gaming, I would recommend going with the 9700. For everything else, such as photoshop, it would not make a difference, however. Just for gaming...
Going gaming? 9700, baby. It's a monster, and it won't disappoint. 9000 is adequate, but the 9700 is the fastest card you can get for the Mac right now. Faster than the GF4Ti. I want one.
sweet..... thanks guys - I've been leaning towards waiting for the 9700 - I think I will wait for it despite my intense eagerness to get the new system : )
