Who has the new G4 dual 1.25? I'm about to order one today. It will split duty between graphics... Go-Live, Photoshop, Indesign & Pro-Tools 6/OSX.

Though the new G4's are not yet officially approved by Digi yet, I'll take the chance it will work as the older dual machines had their issues with mother boards and still do from what I'm hearing. I have another G4/466 I will be able to use if all else fails.

Otherwise, anyone having any issues with said graphics programs on the dual 1.25?

I suffer from a "bad" mother board and as soon as the local Apple Store gets the new S# series I've been promised a new machine. truth be known I haven't noticed any adverse performance issues at all. Just the annoying "Speaker Can Not Be Identified" message after restarts. But, actually even the speakers work fine. Can't speak to use with high-graphics, however.

I wish I could report how my new 1.25 is doing for you but I'm still waiting for it! The machine was ordered 1/28/03 and supposed to be shipped 2/4/03 - then 2/13/03 now 2/19/03...???

I think there are a lot of others in the same situation so reports are rare at this point. Do not believe what Apple gives you for a shipping date until you get the email with a tracking number...

I ordered mine on Jan 30th. Shipping went from Feb 4th to Feb 11th. I gave them the wrong cc number, so shipping was pushed back a day, but I got it yesterday. Stock 1.25

I love it. It's a lot quieter than I thought it would be. When I restart, the big ol fan revs up pretty loud, then slows down when osx boots.

I say if you need the computer, go for it.

I just bought a new Dual 1.25 today (well, ordered one) and I am very much looking forward to getting away from Windows again. My last mac was a g4/400 which I sold over a year ago. I still have an iBook500, but I figure it was time to get myself a desktop. I've had it with Windows.

I can't wait. I can post opinions and thoughts when I get it.

As of today, Apple is telling me the earliest ship date is Mar 4, as opposed to the 3-5 day estimate I got when I modified the order. Sheesh!

March 4th? Wow. You know you'll take a hit when you change the order a couple times, but being that far away, they must be out of stock on something,

a stock 1.25 duallie is showing 1-2 days shipping. 3-5 days if you add a superdrive. too bad i have to wait for another 3 weeks to save just a tad more money...
