Around MacWorld time I remember reading that someone was coming out with an 800mhz G3 upgrade card for blue and white g3 towers. Does anyone know what company this is?

Powerlogix. I already ordered one, but they won't ship until the last half of March.

In terms of performance for games, I'm assuming the 800 mhz g3 upgrade is better than the 500 Mhz altivec enhanced G4? A lot of games (like Freedom Force) specify a G4....

The 800 mhz is $300 btw.
Now I know, and knowing is half the battle!

I've heard that apple's opengl implementation is altivec (g4) enhanced. Therefore I'd bet a slower (mhz wise) g4 could keep up w/ this upgrade card. Plus, most g4's have agp slots for graphics cards while the blue and white g3 only has pci.

Can a game use your graphics card in osX if it is below a 32 meg card? Or does the 32 meg card only for quartz extreme?
