Can anybody help out here? I am sure it is something I am overlooking.

I picked up a EMC MultiSystems 17" monitor to use as a second screen on my Dual 867. Using the VGA adapter, it works great in OS 9, and I have gotten it to work great on my iBook with mirroring in OS X. But on my Dual, it begins the booting process and right before I get the log in screen, it appears that some power unit is tripped and the screen goes dark and the power light begins to blink. When I first got it home, I booted into OS X and it worked until I tried to reset the resolution, and since then I can't get it to work. It still works great in 9 on my Dual, but nothing else seems to work.

I have tried restarting with every different resolution and refresh setting I can think of. Any ideas? Thanks a lot for any help.

It's resolution is just set too high. I give you a suggestion:

Either try the computer with the adapter plugged in (But not the monitor), or plug in another monitor to the adapter.

Open your monitors control panel (if you haven't got a monitor thing in your menu), and turn it on, or go to the next step if you already have the monitor menu.

Open the monitor menu and choose a different resolution, something more common perhaps.

Reboot and plug in your new monitor. It *should work*

I have a theory you knocked it's res out of range.

I think that's exactly what I did. I'll give it a try and see what if it works. Thanks for the suggestion.
