When is this card available, I want a new mac by wednesday and I want this card, if i were to order it but they couldnt tell me when it ships, would they just give me my mac with the mx card in it till the ATI was available them send it to me?

Iast I checked, you couldn't even order a machine with that card in there. If you select the 9700, it says "please go back and change your selection."

I've been waiting a few weeks -- I doubt you'll get it in a new Mac by Wednesday. Either get another card and swap later or wait I guess.

They have in the past sent a free vid card to those that wanted somethign different and then had to settle for something less b/c the card wasn't ready. But I bet that cost 'em a boatload o'money--which is probably why they're not allowing you to select the 9700 card with an order.

Looks like the press release from ATI was dated Jan. 30. Which probably means that it won't be ready for another 30 days after that...
