A guy at work today asked me about this deal over at Mac Warehouse ... usually I don't shop at the online resellers much but I was kind of surprised at this one.

The configuration looked unfamiliar to me so I looked up the Apple part number (M8688LL/A); it's one they offered for the education markets awhile back and I guess they had some overstock they're getting rid of.

I can't find any reference to "refurbished" anywhere. If you don't need a dualie it seems like a pretty good deal. CD-RW instead of a combo drive kinda sucks, though.

My company just bought one. As a skeptical Mac enthusiast, it seems legit. Maybe someone at MacWarehouse found a pile of them behind some empty boxes ...

That was offered to the education market, the entry level PowerMac up until the new ones came out. I bought this back in January since I needed a computer for school. It's legit.

There is certainly nothing wrong with that thaat I can see. However, look around some and you might even find a Dual 867 for a good price. You never know so keep looking a while before you decide.

Acually I have both and both are very good computers.
