I believe Apple use a number of drives from manufacturers including Pioneer, Sony and LG(?). There's no such thing as a specific 'SuperDrive' as such, its just the name Apple gives to the DVD-R/CD-RW drives it uses.
I'd recommend the Pioneer DVR-105/A05. I installed one into my G4 a couple of days ago (replacing the existing CD-RW) and its worked prefectly. Under OS X, it's recognised by the Apple system profiler with disc burning fully supported, and is compatible with all the iApps (including, I believe, iDVD). Full support for the drive was added fairly recently, so I think you do need to be using Jaguar (10.2.x).
A number of reports on 'SuperDrives' can be found at
XLR8YourMac.Com in the drive compatibility database. If you specify DVD-R DVD Recorder as the type and Pioneer as the brand, you can find a number of reports on the DVR-105. I bought just the drive, the retail version (DVR-A05) comes in a box with some blank media and Windows software, but costs more.
