I encounter again and again problems with getting my G4 into deep sleep. W/o any recurring reason, the Mac starts to need time to fall into deep sleep (and to fully wake up again). That works as follows: first the monitor gets dark, then the HD spinns down and then a 50 to 90 sec. delay occurs before the fan gets quiet. Wakeup is opposite: after starting the monitor and HD, the Mac needs 50 to 90 s. to update the clock. Nothing helps other than a restart - and that on a Unix system, what a shame... Probabely it has to do with the power mangement. Can anybody explain who to reset the PM on my G4?

Mines slow too. Wakes up fairly quickly, but USB doesn't work for a bit.

Eh... patience is a virtue.

I never thought anything of it, because I have a SCSI PCI card with a CDRW and a HD, and 3 IDE HD's and a DVD... it takes time to initialise those devices.
