I searched the "Got my 1.42ghz" thread and couldn't find an answer. How's the noise level on this machine?

There's a post about Dual 1.42Ghz performance specs at xlr8yourmac.com today and at the very end the user made this comment:

"the (dual 1.42GHz) is quieter than my QS DP 1GHz."

So there you go.

I second that since I also had the dual 1ghz QuickSilver model and sold it to purchase the Dual 1.4ghz (had it since Saturday March 1st). I can't relate to the problem with the previous generation of the MDD machines but the fit and finish is excellent. You can tell it is pushing air around but the original HD installed - the Seagate Barracuda V 120gb - is the new sound annoyance.

It's funny, all of the reviews of the Barracuda V 120GB made it sound like it was even more quiet than the Barracuda IV. It is nosier than I expected it to be. Optimizing it using Norton System Works 2.0.2 did help.
