Hi all

I just purchased a secondhand PowerMac G4 off the net and am currently (trying) to put it through its paces to ensure its all OK, particularly the combo drive.

I created and erased a CD-RW disc OK. Though after erasing, when burning the CD-RW for a second time it errored verifying and ejected the disc. It seems the contents was burnt OK though. Any reason this might have happened?

My other questions:

How do I create a music CD that can play on a stereo CD player?

Are CD-R/RW created on a Mac normally readable on a PC? If not by default, is there some setting to select PC formating?

Is there any way, ideally via software, to circumvent the combo drive's DVD region setting?

Thanks heaps!

To burn a music cd use iTunes to make a playlist. Then click teh burn button. Its that simple.

In 10.1 or 10.2 make sure that you have the most up to date system software and you should have no problem burning a cd that is compatible with PCs.

Try Mac Update or Version Tracker and look for a program called "Jaguar CD Essentials" It is freeware and might help your CD-RW problem.
