Nice! I would do it. Sure it would be loud but that is why I would put it in my desk cabinet. The XServe is so sweet.

This rack is not meant to serve as a desktop stand for the X-serve. Itīs a solution for small companies that havenīt the place for a large rackmount device (But i still donīt understand why these customer donīt get a Powermac).

If I ran a small company that had plans for future expanding to rackmount servers and only needed 3 or 4 xserves at the moment, I'd be happy to use those mounts.
See, problem with powermacs is when it's time to expand it's a bit more expensive to throw them into a rack.

They make smaller racks than the one's Apple advertises.

It really hasn't got much over the current Towers...
I think the only reason people would get one (outside of business applications, and real uses) is SDS.
It's *HUGE*, *LOUD*, and TOTALLY inappropriate for home use. The form factor alone ruins the functionality. What a freaking mess it'd be.
