Hey guys, I got my new PowerMac Thursday, and I love it. Today I hooked up an old pair of speakers to the audio out jack in the back, but I usually listen through my headphones thru the front jack. When I'm listening to my headphones though, the speakers are outputting the music too. Any way to stop this?

I think that's just how the audio system on the Power Macs work. I don't like it... that's why I ended up buying Apple Pro Speakers and using my iSub.

Another solution is a set of speakers with a headphone jack on them.

Problem is, if they had done it the other way, people would complain about that too!

I think it should be a preference in the sound panel. Like a check box along the lines of "Mute Rear Audio when front connected", and/or the opposite.
