Okay i got my Feds return back yesterday and it was for 425, woot woot. combined with my state return i got 545 back. booyeah.
So i already set on getting a second monitor, a nice 19 incher. i am thinking 280 max
But that leves some cash to burn, now i can't spend the rest of it. so it leaves me about 100 bucks to find another goodie.
Right now i am contemplating getting a third HD, right now i got a 80, and a 20 gig. a nice 100 to 120 would be really really nice and i would splurge the extra cash for it.
Also another real nice thing would be getting a nice LG combo drive, at New Egg i can snag a 48x12x48x16 combo drive and a nice perk would be its only 80 bucks shiped.
so what other thing should i contemplate snagging?

I need some new toys
Oh, toys for you?
Put it in the bank, retirement fund, save it. Or even put it towards a new tower.

a 17" TFT flatpanel monitor would be nice. Starting at $350, you'd still have some cash to burn even if you spent $450.
CRTs are sooo 1980's.
With the last $100 you could get a 80GB Western Digital SE w/8mb cache.

no i am set on a CRT no way in hell am i going to pick up an LCD, the reasons are way to many to list.
ah hell i got nothing better to do
Resolution, i like nice and high, but i also like it any way i want, 800X600, 1024X768 for the high end games that hog my CPU, and 1280X1024 for everything else.
Refreshs rates, i like it that in my games theres no blurry ghosting affect.
I like it that i don't have to worry about dead pixles and how many i have to have before they consider the monitor defective.
Color, i like that a CRT has true homogenous, no need for constant correcting of color.
I got the desktop space to deal with the CRT so thats not a big problem, and i would rather get a really nice 19 inch CRT then a low end LCD

A 19" LaCie monitor (graphics pro choice!) for $399 would be sweet. Or you could save up for whatever comes out in August, be it a bump or not.

just stash it away, until you you have something else that you actually want to buy. Even put it folded up in your wallet, and when you find it again, you'll be all excited. Maybe you'll find it in a time of need.

The WD drives are sweet as all get out. A good choice! I got the rebate from mine last week (bought at X-mas). Even better: I was buying the regular 120, and inside the box was a slip of paper saying they'd put in the 8M cache version for free. Bargain of the damn year, IMO, aside from my 2nd Radeon 8500

just a quick comment about the WD 8mb SE drives...
I replaced a maxtor 40GB 7200rpm (2mb ?) with a 80GB WD SE and noticed that my Battlefield 1942 game loads in less than 10 seconds - as opposed to nearly one minute on the old Maxtor.
Otherwise, in normal operation the snappiness of the new WD drive doesn't feel much different than my old drive did. But, when I open a large file (100mb) or application - the speed difference is quite stunning.
Do you have the same experience with your WD drive?

seeing that i just got mine, i really havn't put anything on it, i might put a few games on it, but its basicly for deep storage of my DVD rips. and i have tried loading them into VLC and they might seem a little more perky but its hard to tell
